SSEC Acting Division Director for Digital Media Ashley Deese designed an app during the Forbes Under 30 Agtech+ Hackathon this weekend. She and her team were challenged with solving “one of the biggest issues in agriculture technology”— the intersection of human and animal health.
Deese, 2019 30 under 30 honoree, and her teammates, Ariel Yi Chi Chang, founder of GeGe Design and 2020 30 Under 30 honoree, and Kemishia Sorzano, For(bes) The Culture member and founder of Social Tea, designed “Happy Herd” a game-like solution to addressing sustainable agriculture and animal health practices. The app aims to increase awareness around farming education, promotes funding to agricultural advocacy groups and helps cultivate more sustainable practices for farmers by using data collection from user methods.
