Colorado LASER Teacher Lindsey Nickerson named Denver Broncos Tackle STEM Coach of the Month

March 2016

The Smithsonian Science Education Center is proud to announce that Lindsey Nickerson has been selected as January’s Denver Broncos Tackle STEM Coach of the Month.  Lindsey is a 7th and 8th grade science teacher at Eaton Middle School where she also serves as a site coordinator for Smithsonian Science Education Center's Colorado LASER program.  She was selected based on her use of hands on activities and positive learning experiences in her classroom. The Denver Broncos Tackle STEM Coach of the Month recognizes top STEM educators from across Colorado in partnership with the Colorado Technology Association’s Foundation.

The Denver Broncos Tackle STEM Coach of the Month is a prestigious award with a prize package of:

  • STEM focused tour of Sports Authority Field at Mile High for the selected educator and up to 50 students, including a transportation stipend and opportunity to host a class session at the stadium
  • Denver Broncos Tackle STEM jersey to proudly display in their classroom to recognize their accomplishments in championing STEM in Colorado

Lindsey’s current work with the SSEC’s Colorado LASER program enabled her to be selected as the Denver Broncos Tackle STEM Coach of the Month.  The LASER program is recognized as providing high-quality STEM education by Colorado STEMWorks, and each STEMWorks program was eligible to nominate one high performing educator during the 2015-2016 season.
