How Can I Win a Game of Flashlight Tag?

How Can I Win a Game of Flashlight Tag?

In this activity, students read about a game of flashlight tag, or hide-and-seek in the dark. They think about ways to hide and ways to seek that will help them win the game. They use a flashlight to explore what happens when light shines on different types of materials. They create and lead a tour of their home that highlights transparent, translucent, opaque, and reflective objects. They then apply their new knowledge about what happens when a light shines on objects to the question of how to win a game of flashlight tag. This activity is adapted from a grade 1 physical science module in Smithsonian Science for the Classroom
