STC Literacy Series™: Sound

How is sound made and how does it travel to your ear? How do animals communicate using sound in the air, water, and the ground? How can we use sound to make our lives better? These are a few of the questions Sound, part of the STC Literacy Series™, asks to help students understand the science of noise. Children learn that sound is caused by vibrations and use real-world examples of sound to understand its properties. They also discover just how integral the human ear is to sound.
